Chelsea farcical defeat to Arsenal yesterday saw the Blues shoot themselves in the foot multiple times.

They made error after error, looked distracted and confused, and in the end took a deserved beating from their rivals.

Andreas Christensen was in the spotlight for a horrible mistake that lead to the first goal. WhoScored’s algorithm had him on a stinking 5.1/10 rating – but they had one player even lower.

Edouard Mendy didn’t make an individual mistake as bad as AC’s, but he was sloppy all game both in defending and in distribution, and he ended the game with a 5.0 rating even lower than his teammate’s.

It continues a pretty worrying spell of form for Mendy, whose confidence and consistency has dropped off majorly in 2022.

We’re sure he will be back to his best soon, but it’s not been his best few months, and the team need him at his peak if they want to win their FA Cup final next month.
