National teams are in the decisive phase of the 2023 U-20 World Cup, where only eight teams aim to reach the next round.
The USA side is the only team that has not conceded a goal at this World Cup. The United States is chasing history in the tournament, aiming for the team’s first semifinal since the 1989 edition. They advanced to this round after securing a 4-0 victory against New Zealand in the Round of 16. In the group stage, they accumulated nine points with three victories against Fiji, Slovakia, and Ecuador.
In the group stage, the Uruguayans finished in second place after securing two victories against Iraq and Tunisia. They suffered a defeat against England, which did not hinder their progression to the round of 16. In that stage, they managed to defeat Gambia by 1-0, despite playing with one man less.
