It's officially summer in Southern California because Bear Mountain closed over the weekend. (You can still ride at Snow Summit, though!)

This winter the SoCal resort recorded 175 inches of snow, second only to the previous winter, when Bear received a record-breaking 243 inches. These are the highest totals since Bear's records began in during the 1999-2000 season.

While the lifts have stopped spinning for winter at Bear, Snow Summit remains open until further notice—so Southern Californians rejoice because Summit park laps are good to go for a while longer.
