Snow is in the forecast this week for Alberta.

A system of rain and snow started on Tuesday and will continue into Wednesday, bringing rain and snow all the way from the mountains in Banff to Calgary.

Banff is forecasted to receive about 15 cm, just around 6 inches, which is pretty great for mid-April.

Tuesday morning, the Village View cam at Sunshine was showing snow falling at mid-mountain.

The Weather Network reported that the city of Calgary usually receives 21 inches of snow in April and as of April 16th, they've only had 15.2 cm, so this isn't unusual for the region.

Sunshine has received 528 cm of snow so far this winter—that's 208 inches for those using the Imperial system.

Temperatures are supposed to warm up later in the week in the beloved teeter-totter of weather that makes spring in Alberta so good for snowboarding.
