Ski Sundown in Connecticut is about to auction off chairs from one of their most iconic lifts that was recently upgraded, with the proceeds going to charity. The auction will go live on May 10th at 7:00am EST, but bidders can register now.

The auction will be held online and is called the “Retiring Chairs, Raising Funds” auction. See below.

The resort will auction off 50 retired lift chairs from Ski Sundown’s original Exhibition Triple, which was also known as Lift 1. It was installed in 1977.

Ski Sundown will be replacing Exhibition Triple with the first Skytrac Quad Lift with a conveyor in Connecticut. See Exhibition on the trail map below. As you can see, it services the majority of the mountain's terrain.

As Ski Sundown's post stated, the auction will go live at 7 a.m. on May 10, but participants can register in advance. Bidding will close at 9 a.m. on May 24. The auction will only be live for 2 weeks.

Ski Sundown made it clear that auction winners must have appropriate transportation and be available to take delivery on June 1, between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m.

The net proceeds from the auction will benefit Summit Adaptive Sports, Inc. and Sundown Ski Patrol, Inc. Summit Adaptive Sports provides snowboard lessons at Ski Sundown to individuals of all ages with physical, cognitive or developmental disabilities.
