Report: Arizona Cardinals’ Price for #4 Overall Draft Pick Revealed
Nathan Ray Seebeck-USA TODAY Sports

The Arizona Cardinals currently hold the #4 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. However, there has been a lot of speculation surrounding that pick.

Part of the reason for this is the deep quarterback class. It leaves many teams desiring a quarterback and some of these teams may even want to move up to acquire one. The latest report indicates that the Cardinals will demand a high price for teams to do this with them.

Arizona Cardinals Want Three First-Round Picks

According to Armando Salguero, who is a Senior NFL Writer for Outkick, the Arizona Cardinals will want three first-round picks if they were to trade the #4 overall draft pick. It would be difficult for many teams to do this without sacrificing most of their immediate future. That is because the Minnesota Vikings and Chicago Bears are the only other teams besides the Cardinals to have multiple picks in the first round.

Taking Marvin Harrison Jr.?

One of the biggest needs for the Arizona Cardinals this offseason is the wide receiver position. That will make selecting Marvin Harrison Jr. out of Ohio State very tempting if he is still available by the time the fourth pick comes along. This may also be a big reason why the demand for the fourth overall pick is so high.

First Three Teams

The first three teams picking in this draft are likely going to dictate how willing the Cardinals are to trade their pick if they do intend to select Harrison. The three teams ahead of Arizona are the Chicago Bears, Washington Commanders, and New England Patriots.

The Bears are very likely going to select QB Caleb Williams. The Commanders will also likely select a quarterback.

This leaves the Patriots. They arguably have the most questionable status of these three teams. However, there have also been rumors connecting the Patriots with Harrison.

It seems unlikely New England would go that route considering Jacoby Brissett is currently their starting quarterback. Not drafting a quarterback with the third pick would certainly be stunning given that information.

If they were to go the Harrison route, it would present a very interesting choice for the Cardinals. In that situation, they could draft another talented wide receiver such as Malik Nabers out of LSU. Or Arizona can try to get as close to their asking price for a trade as possible.
